CRYSTAL
MICRO-DERMABRASION
Crystal microdermabrasion projects a flow of inert
crystals over the skin and abrades away epidermal cells
in the treated area. It is done so precisely that
normal surrounding tissue is hardly affected. Crystal
microdermabrasion is used to treat skin imperfections,
wrinkles and scars.
After a treatment the skin may feel tight, as if
exposed to the sun or wind. The skin should be kept
well moisturized following the treatment. With deeper
treatment levels, there may be slight redness and mild
swelling. Also with deeper treatments you may see
slight blood spotting. Healing may take several days or
longer.
The fresh newly exposed skin will be delicate.
Pigmentation changes are possible. Swimming and sun
exposure should be avoided for at least a week. Protect
your skin from the sun by using a SPF 30 antioxidant
face protection sun block, and hat or visor. With
deeper treatments, do not apply ordinary make-up for at
least 24 hours.
You will want to use mild non-glycolic cleansers
following the treatment. Do not use any products
containing glycolic acid, or other acids or Retinol for
approximately two to four days or until the skin has
healed.
We recommend a series of six treatments every other
week, as part of an overall professionally managed skin
care program.
